Uncharted Waters is an interactive balancing game inspired by the working port history of the Singapore River. Moving beyond screen-based learning, it reimagines heritage as a physical, embodied experience. Players tilt a wooden platform to guide a ball through narrow pathways and obstacles, reflecting the instability faced by early river labourers transporting goods. Through motion, coordination, and controlled balance, the game fosters empathy for labour, historical awareness, and resilience. By transforming history into tactile play, Uncharted Waters bridges past and present, enabling children to understand and physically experience a fragment of Singapore’s river heritage.

Hello, I am Natalie Tan, a final-year Product Experience & Design student driven by the belief that design should be felt, not just seen. I am deeply interested in how interaction and storytelling can shape meaningful experiences and influence the way people understand the world around them.

From research to prototyping, I enjoy transforming abstract ideas into tangible, thoughtful outcomes. Through experimentation and refinement, I strive to create designs that balance conceptual depth with craftsmanship, producing work that is purposeful, engaging, and reflective.
