RETURN is a handheld viewfinder anchoring an interactive heritage system integrated into Singapore’s MRT network. Each station features a collectable cassette linked to local stories, allowing users to explore narratives of early Chinese immigrants and their lives in old Singapore. By bringing heritage into everyday commutes, RETURN extends cultural experiences beyond museum walls, making history more accessible and engaging. The system also encourages visitors to explore multiple stations and nearby heritage sites, transforming daily travel into a journey through time while promoting cultural awareness, heritage appreciation, and tourism through a simple, interactive experience.
