ENG Tech Show is a yearly occasion hosted by Temasek Polytechnic's
School of Engineering (ENG), featuring innovative and cutting-edge projects involving
students, faculty, and industry collaborators.
This year, the Enabling Technology Collaboratory (ETC) will host an
open house during the event. Established by the School of Engineering and the School of
Informatics & IT, the ETC is a multi-disciplinary centre dedicated to integrating
key enabling technologies like AI, IoT, and immersive media to address real-world
issues. The Collaboratory functions as a multi-disciplinary hub for testing and creating
innovative solutions through collaboration with industry partners. As part
of the Tech Show programme, ETC will be conducting 3 FREE mini-workshops. Attendees
are welcome to register for the workshops.
Amazon Web Services will be announcing its support for the
Collaboratory in the areas of training in-demand skills, co-creating innovative
solutions and industry-academia applied research.

Exploring Omniverse on the Cloud
Nvidia's Omniverse is a real-time 3D graphics collaboration
platform extensively used in visual effects and digital twin
industrial simulation. While typically requiring high-end GPUs,
this workshop provides participants with an alternative means of
deploying Omniverse on the cloud.

No Code Immersive Role-Play System
Role-play as a pedagogical method enables learners to navigate
realistic scenarios and gain experiences in a supportive
environment. Despite its effectiveness, implementing role-play
in teaching poses challenges. This workshop provides
participants with a chance to design immersive role-play
learning applications without the need for coding skills.

AI Chatbots - Use and Design for
Education
The increased adoption of generative AI tools to generate output
has also triggered us to rethink about assessments and the
possibilities of leveraging on them as learning tools. Hence
this workshop will also briefly review the uses and impact of AI
chatbots, from in-house developed ones to ChatGPT in the
Polytechnic setting.
