At the end of the module, students will be able to:
have an understanding of cybersecurity concepts and malicious viruses such as malware, spyware, ransomware etc and the impact of these on their personal computing devices;
know how to protect their personal computers using firewalls and antivirus software; various encryption schemes and their use for wifi, data protection of hard disk drives etc;
- understand how to safely surf the internet from home and in malls or F&B outlets.
understand the psychological make-up of cyber hackers and how to recognise when sniffing, snooping or attacking of an information system takes place.
Students will be assessed against the following criteria:

Students are required to:
- Fulfill 75% of the attendance and
- Obtain a pass mark of at least 50% upon completion of the module.
