Chemical engineering is a multi-disciplinary field that involves the application of Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Physics. It focuses on how chemicals are processed and manufactured into products that we use daily, such as cosmetics, water, fuels, pharmaceutical drugs and plastics. The broad-based training will enable you to embark on a rewarding career in many sectors including the petrochemical, speciality chemical, pharmaceutical, energy, semiconductor, environment and water industries.

WorldSkills Singapore (WSS) is a national skills competition to discover and recognise the most skilful youths in Singapore. The competition aims to raise the standards of excellence in technical skills through competitions and generate greater public awareness and interest in technical education. Competitors come from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), the polytechnics, universities, private educational institutions, and the industry.
Lai Mun Wah Shaun represented Diploma in Chemical Engineering participating in WSS 2020 and 2021. He earned the Silver Medal in the Water Technology trade from both his participations. Shaun also contributed significantly to train his juniors for the WSS competition.
The Singapore Junior Water Prize (SJWP) is a national competition organized by the Lien Foundation, Sembcorp Industries and Ngee Ann Polytechnic; and supported by PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency. It aims to promote awareness and interest in water and environmental issues among young people; and the winning team will represent Singapore to vie for the international Stockholm Junior Water Prize in Sweden.
For 2022, our Water Technology/Chemical Engineering team was represented by Low Qi En Rachel and Cindy Songsa Ard Hui Qing. Despite stiff competitions from IP schools, polytechnics and ITEs, the two students managed to overcome two qualifying rounds to achieve Podium finish of 3rd prize & The Sembcorp Water Innovation Medal!
Tam Kai Ze (first from left in photo) participated in Idea Pitch Global Competition (Re-imagine Haircare in 2030) organized by Procter & Gamble (P&G) in 2020.
