Process of Administering SkillsFuture Credit Top-up (SFC2)
2. The SFC2 Claim Forms can be found in SII confirmation letters to the students. 3. As the submission of SkillsFuture Credit Top-up (SFC2) claims to SSG through the MySkillsFuture Portal or mobile app will be not available till 1 October 2020, individuals should submit the completed claim forms to SII before the commencement of course. 4. Please note that individuals should continue to submit claims on the MySkillsFuture Portal or mobile app to utilise their opening credit i.e. SFC1. There is no change to this process. 5. Individuals who need help can approach SSG by calling 6785 5785 or via ssg.gov.sg/feedback. |

Course Overview
The Diploma in Security Management is developed to equip officer with managerial skills and competencies to perform the job at managerial level and manage the security operations, agency or department. Individual has to complete 7 modules to attain the Diploma in Security Management.
A Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded to the individual when he successfully completed each module and assessed to be competent.
Exemptions from Training Requirements for Chief Security Officer PWM Grade
1. Graduates from the following diplomas may be exempted from the mandatory and elective Chief Security Officer training modules in their application for the Security Officer Licence:
- Diploma In Security & Fire Safety Studies;
- Diploma In Security & Fire Safety Management.
For exemptions in PWM years-in-service criteria, graduates may write in to SPF_Licensing@spf.gov.sg and submit evidence of relevant experience in the security industry/ uniformed service.
2. Graduates from the following diplomas may be exempted from the elective Chief Security Officer training modules in their application for the Security Officer Licence:
- Diploma In Police & Security Studies;
- Diploma In Police Studies & Security Management;
- Diploma In Management & Police Studies.
In order to qualify for a full exemption to the Chief Security Officer PWM grade, one must pass the mandatory Chief Security Officer training module which is the ‘Manage Security Agency Within Legal Framework’.
For exemptions in PWM years-in-service criteria, graduates may write in to SPF_Licensing@spf.gov.sg and submit evidence of relevant experience in the security industry/ uniformed service.
Application/Entry Requirement
- Relevant working experience in the security related industry at a supervisory, executive or management level; or
- Successfully completed Security WSQ Advanced Certificate in Security Supervision
These requirements are not applicable to current students attending the Diploma in Security Management
After your Training
- For PLRD system to reflect the security modules you have passed (deemed competent) into your license, you are required to upload your e-SOAs.
- For a student to obtain his/her certificate for full qualification, he/she has to submit copies of all the Statements of Achievement (SOAs) to the assessment centre (either SII or POLWEL) that has assessed the last SOA leading to the full qualification.

If the last SOA leading to the full qualification is assessed by POLWEL, students are required to approach POLWEL in person for full qualification printing.
Student will receive the electronic full qualification certificate within 2 working weeks from the date of the full submission of the required form and document.

Application Procedures

Steps to follow in your application:
Step 1 - Enter NRIC/ Passport No
Step 2 - Select course code and course commencement date.
Step 3 - Enter personal, qualification, employment and sponsoring details (if applicable).
Step 4 - Make declaration and submit online application
Generally, a course run is opened for online application only about 12 weeks before the scheduled training date and will close about 2 weeks before course commencement date or when the maximum number of applications is reached, whichever is earlier.
Courses with a “Commencement Date” available for selection in the “Online Application for Part Time Courses” system means that particular course run is available for application. If you do not see a commencement date of the course that you want, it means that the application for that course run has closed or it is not opened for application yet.
After the online application closes and upon confirmation of the running of the class, a confirmation letter of offer will be sent via email to and reach the applicant about 1 week before the course commencement date. The course fee, payment method, enrolment and other information will be provided in the letter. Applicants must provide a valid email address during the online application in order to receive the softcopy confirmation letter of offer.
NOTE:
- Assessment may be conducted on a different day after the last day of training.
- Trainees will be informed of their assessment date(s) on the 1st day of training.
- For modules assessed by POLWEL. A written test (with project submission) and final interview will be conducted on the 3rd and 4th week, respectively, after the last day of training. The affected modules are “Conduct Security Survey”, “ Manage Security Operations”, “Assess and Manage Security Risk Control Measures”, “Manage Security Business” and “Manage Security Emergencies”
- Security Industry Institute reserves the right to alter the course, modify the scale of fees, amend any other information or cancel classes with low enrolment.
- Currently, all our training programmes are conducted on a full-day basis from 9.00am to 6.00pm, unless otherwise advised.
Company-Sponsored Trainees
Employers who sponsor their staff for training may be able to apply for the following via the SkillsConnect Portal:
- Absentee payroll funding.
- Enhanced Training Support for SMEs if they qualify as SMEs (ONLY for Diploma in Security Management Modules).
- SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (ONLY for Diploma in Security Management Modules) if their employees are eligible.

Self-Sponsored Trainees
- Self-sponsored trainees will qualify for The SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy if they are Singapore Citizens aged 40 years and above.
- NTUC Union members will enjoy 50% unfunded course fee (i.e. the balance course fee payable after applicable government subsidy) support up to $250 per calendar year under the Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP). The unfunded portion of the course fee must be S$20 and above. This excludes GST, registration and other miscellaneous fees.
