Course Overview

This subject provides a comprehensive coverage on aviation safety issues with regards to airport operations and safety. Students will learn topics such as aviation safety hazards identification and management, various human factors related to aviation safety and management of human errors as part of the safety risk management framework.

 

Objectives

The objectives of this subject are to equip students with good knowledge and skill to:

  • Explain what constitutes an aviation safety management; its importance, issues, challenges and management framework
  • Evaluate various human factors and mitigate the impact of human errors on aviation safety
  • Evaluate aviation safety hazards so as to appraise aviation safety risk management plans

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Diploma in Engineering (Aviation Management).
