Course Overview

This subject illustrates space as valuable assets of a facility and ways to harness BIM technology to manage the asset information within the facility as-built BIM. The subject also covers concept of digital BIM data within integrated suite of applications that addresses all aspects of facilities and infrastructure management.

 

Objectives

Students will be able to:

  • Develop a typical BIM Asset Information Model for coordinated asset operations and maintenance.
  • Propose BIM enabled space management and area-use facility planning documentation based on acceptable industry practice.
  • Maintain BIM data interoperability across various facility management platform.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Modes of Assessment

 

The assessment will be based on a combination of coursework components such as practical tests, case studies, presentations, and projects.

 

 

Certification

 

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Specialist Diploma in Building Information Modeling (BIM) Construction & Asset Management.
