Course Overview

This subject is to enhance BIM skills using industry recognized BIM authoring tools. The subject broadly divides BIM knowledge and skills into BIM modeling, extraction of BIM documentation and BIM building data through BIM collaboration.

The subject also provides BIM knowledge for cross-disciplinary coordination, worksharing through cloud collaboration.

Students will be able to:

  • define the extent of use of BIM visualization and authoring tools for architectural, structural and MEP models to create design iterations
  • build worksharing capabilities for coordinated work through the use of a federated BIM model for collaboration
  • evaluate BIM Model quality through interference checks using cross-disciplinary models coordination
  • extract BIM building data from quantity take-off, schedules, legends and formulate the BIM data of architectural, structural and MEP BIM models

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.
