Course Overview

Providing creative branding solutions for brands in the marketplace by merely applying design and aesthetics approaches is no longer a formula for success for a brand. A deeper understanding of business concepts applied and integrated as part of the creative strategy results in a more holistic solution. This course will enable participants to acquire insights into both the theoretical and creative knowledge for building and designing brands in practice at an advanced level. There will be a focus on Brand Building & Strategy, Brand Communication, Brand Systems and Brand Experience which is currently a cornerstone for a branding framework in today’s industry context.

 

 

Objectives

 

The subject aims to equip the students with the skills and knowledge to:
 

  • identify the importance of branding and components of brand equity
  • construct brand strategy with marketing tools and models
  • formulate appropriate visual language for cross-cultural applications
  • interpret how branding is adapted across different cultural segments
  • incorporate design thinking to create innovative branding.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

What You'll Learn

This subject covers the knowledge of branding as a critical strategy for businesses in today's context. It will examine brands that incorporate design methods to express the brand’s identity and to engage consumers. The subject teaches the importance of innovation in brand engagement and the study of current trends which are important for brands to remain competitive and relevant in the changing market.

Certification

 

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Specialist Diploma in Branding Design.
