Course Overview

Through this module you will gain a basic understanding of business intelligence concepts, the data-driven decision-making lifecycle, data exploration using descriptive statistics, as well as skills in data cleansing techniques. You will also learn to use simple data visualisation techniques to describe data.

Objectives

Through this module, you will learn to:

Make data-driven decisions in an intelligent and informed manner
Prepare and clean business data for analysis to uncover hidden insights which are valuable to the organisation
Perform exploratory analysis and trending on data
Apply statistical concepts in the analysis of the data gathered from business domains

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Applicants who are Singaporean citizens or Permanent Residents (PR) can utilize their SkillsFuture Credits to enrol into the new diploma eligibility qualification program called the "Data Analytics Specialist Diploma Qualification Program." This program is a collaborative effort between Accenture Academy and Temasek Polytechnic (TP). Upon successful completion of the qualification program, learners will earn credits that can be applied towards waiving the Minimum Entry Requirement (MER) for the stackable modular course - Business Intelligence Fundamentals. This provides learners the option to stack their modular course towards achieving a corresponding full-qualification course. Visit here to learn more.

Modes of Assessment

You will be assessed by coursework. There are no examinations for this subject.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be issued the Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Specialist Diploma in Financial Analytics or Specialist Diploma in Business Analytics.
