Course Overview

This subject provides a good coverage on the fundamentals of ground handling operations and management. Students will have a good understanding of topics such as passenger handling, cargo handling, ramp handling, baggage handling, ground handling agreement and in-flight catering service, etc. Students will also have a good overview and appreciation of future trends and challenges facing ground handling operations and management.

 

Objectives

The objectives of this subject are to equip students with adequate skills and knowledge to:

  • Manage the various components in ground handling operations
  • Relate and provide better support to other related airport operations
  • Prepare themselves to better deal with future trends and developments in ground handling operations and management

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Diploma in Engineering (Aviation Management).
