The subject will be taught through workshop sessions. The workshops will be used to teach and enable students to apply industry-recognised practices. E-learning resources will be used where appropriate to complement lessons.
Modes of Assessment
There would be formative and summative assessments. The formative assessments would provide an opportunity for an interim evaluation of students' understanding of that they are learning. The feedback given will help students to assess their knowledge of concepts and skills, and to correct errors in their project implementation. Students would be expected to act on the feedback and tutors will look out for evidence of improvements in the subsequent workshop sessions.
The summative assessment is based on 100% continuous assessment. The continuous assessment includes a project. Details are as follows:
Project: A project will be used to assess the students’ practical knowledge in applying machine learning principles. Students are required to justify their proposed solutions during the project presentation.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be issued the Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Specialist Diploma in AI Solutions Development.
