This module exposes students to different diet-related diseases in geriatric population through lectures and case studies approach. It also emphasizes on translating medical nutrition therapy into practice where dedicated practical sessions help to integrate and apply the knowledge learnt. This will equip students with good understanding on nutritional approach in managing diet-related diseases in elderly.
Modes of Assessment
Coursework with no examinations. Assessments may consist of a range of components, such as tests, quizzes, assignments, participation, peer evaluation and other appropriate methods.
Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of Specialist Diploma in Gerontology (Nutrition for Ageing Well)
