Course Overview

This subject provides an overview of revenue management as practiced in the tourism industry. The role and importance of revenue management in the industry and the relationship between revenue management and yielding profitability will be covered. It will introduce the use of historical information and current trends to forecast managing revenue and maximizing profits to achieve goals.

 

Objectives

 

The subject aims to equip the students with the skills and knowledge to:

  • Explain the role of revenue management in the tourism industry; and
  • Implement operational revenue strategies to maximise profits.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Specialist Diploma in MICE & Events Management.
