Course Overview

The subject provides an overview of the various aspects of transport operations and freight management and its importance in the global trade and supply chain management. The subject covers the important freight concepts including the Incoterms, Harmonised System (HS) Codes, customs duties and GST. Various shipping document requirements, preparation of shipment costing and declaration of trade permits will also be emphasised.

 

 

Objectives

 

The subject aims to equip students with knowledge and skills to:

  • Apply the concepts of the various aspects of transport operations and freight management to support international trade and supply chain management.
  • Identify documentation requirements for freight transport, prepare standard shipping documents and declare trade permits.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.
