This part-time diploma course leverages the technologies and know-how deployed in Temasek Polytechnic Advanced Manufacturing Centre, an end-to-end smart factory on campus, complete with a nerve centre, a manufacturing shop floor and an intralogistics automation centre, to offer multidisciplinary experiential training in Operational Technology (OT), Information Technology (IT) and organization automation aspects of advanced manufacturing. We aim to support the workforce in manufacturing to deepen their knowledge and skills in advanced manufacturing and automation. The training is very much skill-based with hands-on sessions on robotics, industrial IOT & connectivity, manufacturing logistics, cybersecurity and design thinking to upskill trainees for Industry 4.0 transformation.

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on supporting evidence of competency readiness. The intended target audience is a non-diploma working professional who is currently working in or aspiring to join the Engineering, Logistics, Precision Engineering, Aerospace Manufacturing and Electronics Manufacturing sector. This course will impart participants with multi-disciplinary and cross-functional skillsets for end-to-end solutions demanded in the advanced manufacturing landscape.
To be awarded the Diploma in Engineering (Digital Manufacturing), participants are required to complete a total of 5 modular certificates (MCs). A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of each MC.
Modular Certificate in Supply Chain & Logistics IT
This certificate provides an overview of the supply chain management and logistics IT in the manufacturing industry. Graduates from this modular certification will not only gain the skills of logistics operations but will be able to understand and have first-hand experience to the various advanced technology solutions in the evolving logistics field.

This subject provides an overview of the role of Distribution Centre (DC) in the supply chain, the various activities performed within a DC and the significance of these activities on customer service and total logistics costs.
It focuses on the major resources to be applied in a DC and explains how they interact with one another in contributing to the DC’s effectiveness and efficiency. It will also cover the significance of providing DC services to the Third-Party Logistics industry.

This subject covers the key business and operational processes within an enterprise. The use of an ERP system will be used to illustrate how enterprise system integrate information and work flow across a company's various business functions.
|BCLO011||Supply Chain Management & Technology
The subject provides an overview of the relations between supply chain management and logistics management, and their impact on the success of organisations. It focuses on the major functional components in a supply chain and explains how they interact with one another in contributing to the success of a business organisation. The application of technology will also be emphasised, as technology is a key driver of business operations in the supply chain.

This subject introduces the core elements of a smart manufacturing system where real-time manufacturing data enables flexibility and increase productivity. An introduction to advanced manufacturing and key enabling technologies such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems, Manufacturing Executions Systems (MES) and Augmented Reality (AR) are used to lay the foundation for understanding the application and benefits of smart manufacturing.
|ECME101||CAD & Additive Manufacturing
Additive Manufacturing, also commonly known as 3D Printing, is becoming an important manufacturing technique in advanced manufacturing that complements existing manufacturing processes.
In this subject, the main topics covered include principles and development of Additive Manufacturing, design guidelines for Additive Manufacturing (ISO/ASTM 52911-2), design of support structures, generalized process chain, process selection guidelines, pre-processing software, post-processing methods and laser-based powder bed.
|ECMF102||Robotics & Automation
This subject covers factory automation systems that are the foundation for advanced manufacturing systems. It provides the essential concepts and background on industrial automation, robotics and their applications, as well as their integration into a complete manufacturing system. You will also learn the working principles and applications of automation equipment and how to automate production processes to achieve quality and high productivity. Both hardware and software links between the main factory automation components are introduced.
|ECMF103||Introduction to Smart Automation
This subject provides the fundamentals of automation in a manufacturing environment. Four main topics are covered; namely pneumatics, electro-pneumatics, programmable logic controllers and an introduction to advanced manufacturing. Essential knowledge of the working principles and applications of automation equipment are covered, followed by an overview of how to automate production processes to achieve quality and high productivity. You will also be introduced to the concept of smart automation and the key concepts of advanced manufacturing.

This subject covers the technical skillsets required for applying machine learning algorithms and deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI) models onto edge computing devices. It provides the essential concepts and background on data analytics, supervised and unsupervised machine learning models, the process of optimization and their applications in advanced manufacturing.
|ECCC102||Industrial IoT Analytics
This subject provides the essential concepts and skills needed for implementing digital transformation in smart manufacturing plants. It covers the application of industrial software platforms to wirelessly interconnect sensors, Internet of Things (IoT) devices and equipment. The students will learn to develop dashboard for acquiring, analyzing and displaying data that is commonly found in Advanced Manufacturing. Modern approaches in activation of hardware and software responses when interventions are required for process improvement or corrective actions are also covered in detail.

This subject introduces the concepts of web application development. Topics covered include web page design, front-end and back-end web development and web deployment.
This subject covers graphing fundamentals, graphing properties and building dashboards for reporting purposes using relevant statistical modelling and analysis techniques. Topics covered include the preparation of reports and dashboards following data analysis to support managerial decision-making.
This subject introduces the security and privacy issues involved in the implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) applications and services. Topics covered include cryptography, capability, access-control mechanisms, authentication models and privacy support through data abstraction, integration and data synchronisation.

This is a foundational subject that introduces students to the fundamentals of Design Thinking. The subject will discuss different design research methodologies available. It will include several design research method assignments such as Contextual Inquiry, Usability Testing, Survey, Persona Framing, etc. and methods for distillation of research insight for specific design issue and context.

This subject introduces the SEE-Cycle Design Thinking framework. The subject will include various assignments and workshops to help the student grasp the concept of Scoping, Exploring, and Experimenting process. Students will be introduced to tools such as User Journey Map, Empathy Map, etc.
|DCE017Z||Design Thinking in Practice
This is a “Close to Real World” project-based subject. It will challenge students to use and put into practice, the design thinking framework as well as applied research. If the situation permits, the student will be working alongside with an industry collaborator to resolve a business problem through the design thinking process. Student will be exposed to ideation tool such as , SCAMPER, Card Sorting, Idea Bundling, Storyboarding , etc. as well as collaboration, visual and communication tools such as Figma, Miro, etc. They will be applying quick prototyping techniques such as 3D Printing, Adobe Experience, etc. to validate and communicate their ideas and design solutions.
