In this course, you will learn that building a brand is not just about design and aesthetics but also about the correct application of business concepts and creative strategy. Minimum Entry Requirements

 

A Polytechnic Diploma or ITE Technical Diploma / Technical Engineer Diploma / Work-Learn Technical Diploma or equivalent

 

OR A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

 

OR A Post-Secondary Certificate with at least 5 Years of relevant working experience

Individuals who wish to gain deeper insights into the methodologies and processes of Branding.

What You'll Learn

To be awarded the Specialist Diploma in Branding Design, participants are required to complete a total of 2 Post-Diploma Certificates (PDCs). A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of each PDC.

DCE018K Brand Building

This subject provides knowledge in planning an effective brand strategy. It focuses on the foundations of strategic thinking, analyse the ever-changing competitive landscape that maps out the clarity and opportunities with the implementation of a brand proposal. It covers the formulation of brand positioning statement, market segmentation, mood board visualisations of a brand’s attributes or characteristics, brand personality and narrative. It also includes the incorporation of brand experiences for audience interactions and engagement through a brand blueprint framework.

DCE019K Brand Communication

This subject covers the knowledge of branding as a critical strategy for businesses in today's context. It will examine brands that incorporate design methods to express the brand’s identity and to engage consumers. The subject teaches the importance of innovation in brand engagement and the study of current trends which are important for brands to remain competitive and relevant in the changing market.

DCE020K Brand Systems

This subject provides the framework of a brand identity system, comprising a brand strategy and corporate identity supported by a brand identity guide. The topics will include the elements that make up a brand system, from logo classifications to complex visual systems that create a unified brand experience. It will cover the creation of a set of brand expressions that are required to be applied across a variety of mediums.

DCE021K Brand Experience

This subject covers the design of a brand experience that captures the customer’s loyalty. The subject teaches the importance of consumer engagement through various touchpoints such as products, services, and environments. It will examine the needs of modern day consumers that contributes to creating a holistic brand experience.

Modes of Assessment 

 

The subjects in this course incorporates both formative and summative assessments. The assessment framework may include class participation, research reports, presentations, quizzes, assignments and projects.

Career Opportunities

Graduates will be able to advance their careers in the areas of Design, Business and Innovation. The course will support the following job roles in SFwD: Product Manager (Business Track: Design Product Management), Strategist/Business Designer (Innovation Track: Strategy/Business Design) and Designer (Design Track: Design Craft) according to DesignSingapore Council’s Skills Future Framework for Design (SFwD).

Course fees will be reviewed by MOE on an annual basis and adjusted accordingly.
