Designed for diploma graduates who are keen to gain deeper insights into the provision of financial advisory services and wealth management, the part-time Specialist Diploma in Financial Advisory Services course aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge to:
Acquire new clients and build client relationships;
Create sound financial plans to assist clients in reaching their financial goals;
Explain how the investment products meet clients’ needs;
Perform data analytics for investment and marketing purposes.
The minimum admission requirement is a Polytechnic Diploma or ITE Technical Diploma/Technical Engineer Diploma/Work-Learn Technical Diploma.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.

This subject focuses on the management of interactions with customers so as to attract, retain, and create strong relationships. Participants will also be introduced to ethical and regulatory considerations specifically related to the provision of financial services. The knowledge of investment products and financial planning translates effectively into sales when participants are trained in client acquisition and relationship management.

This subject introduces participants to the process of performing needs analysis through the different phases of an individual’s life cycle so as to identify gaps in the financial plan.
The application of content and skills is consolidated in a case that requires participants to prepare personal financial statements for clients and project the outcomes of the financial plan into the future; including meeting retirement needs.

This subject seeks to provide participants with a framework for analyzing major financial instruments, their basic characteristics and different risk-return profile from an investment perspective.
The application of content and skills is consolidated in a case which simulates a real-life scenario where participants will be required to deconstruct structured investment products into their plain vanilla constituents.
|BCAF012||Data Analytics for Investment & Marketing
This subject introduces students to the concepts and techniques of interrogating data to derive useful knowledge and patterns that can help financial institutions gain business insights for decision-making.
Participants will be introduced to concepts and techniques of turning data from various sources into information useful to financial consultants for identifying emerging investment trends and client needs.
Modes of Assessment
The assessment would be based on 100% coursework with role play, written tests, case studies, assignments and projects.
Successful financial consultants with demonstrated sales record and capability to retain investable assets can look forward to career progression to become sales team leader / manager. Those with higher levels of success can aim to seek employment in priority banking or private banking
