Course Overview

The manufacturing sector is by far the largest industry in Singapore and is set to grow by 50% by 2030. SkillsFuture Singapore has also identified Advanced Manufacturing as a viable and attractive career path involving new core skills like data analytics and artificial intelligence, essential to the smart manufacturing sector.

 

This course aids in bridging the gap between Operational Technology and Informatics Technology by using IoT, so you have the versatility to transform industries. You will be equipped with skills and knowledge in Manufacturing Analytics, Practical Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Internet of Things and Cybersecurity. This will enable you to widen your job scope and be well-versed in the core functions of advanced manufacturing, such as the process, equipment, facility and more.

 

This course prepares students for CISA certification.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements

 

A Polytechnic Diploma or ITE Technical Diploma / Technical Engineer Diploma / Work-Learn Technical Diploma or equivalent

 

OR A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

 

OR A Post-Secondary Certificate with at least 5 Years of relevant working experience

This course is targeted at those who are working as Associate Engineers, Automation Engineers, Equipment Engineers, Operation Engineers, Process Engineers, IT Engineers who are interested to broaden their knowledge and skills in Manufacturing Analytics, Practical Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Internet of Thing and Cybersecurity so as to support their companies in industry transformation projects.

What You'll Learn

To be awarded the Specialist Diploma, participants are required to complete a total of 2 Post-Diploma Certificates (PDCs). A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of each PDC.

CII1C01 Data Analytics Essentials

This subject covers an overview of analytics and data lifecycle, including gathering, cleaning, processing and visualising data. Exploratory data analysis methods, descriptive and predictive analytics as well as machine learning applications of industrial / engineering data will also be covered.

CII1C02 Operational Technology (OT) Security

This subject covers the Operational Technology (OT) hardware, software, IoT & network cybersecurity issues and resolutions. Cybersecurity risks, mitigation methods and various OT cybersecurity standards are covered to meet the industry needs and for governance and compliances. 

Post-Diploma Certificate in Manufacturing Analytics

ECCC202 Industrial Edge Computing & Machine Learning

This subject covers the technical skillsets required for applying machine learning algorithms and deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI) models onto edge computing devices. It provides the essential concepts and background on data analytics, supervised and unsupervised machine learning models, the process of optimization and their applications in advanced manufacturing.

ECMF209 Advanced Manufacturing System

This subject introduces the core elements of a smart manufacturing system where real-time manufacturing data enables flexibility and increase productivity. An introduction to advanced manufacturing and key enabling technologies such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems, Manufacturing Executions Systems (MES) and Augmented Reality (AR) are used to lay the foundation for understanding the application and benefits of smart manufacturing.

Modes of Assessment

 

The assessment will be based on a combination of coursework components such as written and practical tests, case studies, assignments and projects.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the Specialist Diploma in Industrial Informatics should be able to apply data analytics, Machine Learning as well as Cybersecurity in the context of Advanced Manufacturing. They could be expected to competently support Artificial Intelligence assisted predictive maintenance, data-driven equipment automation as well as end to end operation and process optimisation.

 

Graduates of the course can take up expanded job roles and responsibilities in modern manufacturing plants as Data Engineers, Manufacturing Data Analysts, Automation Technologists, IOT Specialists, Application Security Engineers etc.

Course fees payable is based on per Post-Diploma Certificate.

Course fees will be reviewed by MOE on an annual basis and adjusted accordingly.

MOE subsidy will not be applicable for students who repeat a module or semester.
