What is the SGUnited Skills Programme?

The SGUnited Skills (SGUS) programme is a 6 to 12-month full-time training programme designed to help unemployed Singaporeans/PRs to upskill and reskill themselves with industry-relevant skills and knowledge. The training will be conducted on a full-time basis, but in modular format, so that trainees can have the flexibility to exit the programme once they have found a job.

Who is it for?

 

  • Singapore Citizens / PRs aged 21 and above
  • Individuals who are able to commit to the training programme on a full-time basis

 

In addition, the target trainees for SGUS programmes will exclude the following:
 

a) Graduated or graduating in Calendar Year (CY) 2019 / 2020 / 2021 from ITE, Polytechnics, Universities, and other educational institutions. This includes graduates from private universities as well as overseas institutions; and
 

b) Graduated from the educational institutions mentioned in (a) and completed or completing their National Service (NS) in CY 2019 / 2020 / 2021 and are entering the labour force.

How can I benefit from this training programme?

 

In view of the full-time training commitment, SGUS trainees will receive a *monthly training allowance of up to $1,200 throughout the course of study. You will also receive career advisory and employment assistance to support your job search.  The programme includes industry projects or attachments which can showcase your abilities to potential employers.

Career Advisement and Employment Assistance

 

Temasek Polytechnic’s SkillsFuture Academy (TSA) has a Professional Placement Section (PPS) with a primary objective of supporting SGUS trainees with career advisement and employment assistance in their job search.  The PPS organises tailor-made workshops for SGUS trainees in resume writing and interview skills, coordinates job fairs and other employment opportunities, as well as provides career guidance and counselling services.  The PPS also connects SGUS trainees to Placement Agencies (PAs) for job matching, and engages industry attachment companies for job placement opportunities up to 6 months after graduating from the SGUS programme.

Steps to follow in your application:

 

Step 1 – Select “Individual” and click “Sign Up via SingPass”. Once you are registered, you will be directed back to the Sign Up page to login with your account details to access the Online Application Portal.

If you already have an account, select “Individual” and click “Sign In via SingPass” to login with your account details to access the Online Application Portal.

 

Step 2 – Refer to the User Manual here (also found on the Online Application Portal) & follow the instructions accordingly.
