|Executive Entrepreneurship Programme||This 27-hour programme that enables the participants to gain an understanding of the basic principles necessary to start and operate a business. This entrepreneurship programme is designed for individuals who have an interest in developing the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to become successful entrepreneurs. The programme will value add to the participant’s entrepreneur journey.
|Design Thinking in Action - The SEE Cycle||If you are an entrepreneur, educator or PMET seeking revolutionary breakthroughs in creative thinking and innovation, you will benefit from this course. Going beyond conventional design thinking courses, this unique 3-step framework breaks down and demystifies the process of creative ideation that promotes originality, while encouraging out-of-the-box thinking. The SEE Cycle will help you sift through the jargon and gain insight into the cyclical and highly iterative creative thinking process. You will be encouraged to adopt an open and expansive mindset that will embrace risk-taking and deep inquiry. The programme provides those interested in exploring aquaculture entrepreneurship with essential knowledge of transforming an idea into a viable aquaculture venture or start-up. Through 580 hours of broad-based knowledge and intensive skill learning in aquaculture, participants would acquire a professional attitude and competency to perform aquaculture activities, such as animal care and husbandry, health monitoring, best practices in aquaculture and basic aquaculture facility operations and maintenance using concepts of aquaculture engineering.
- Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents, aged 21 & above
- 3 Relevant ‘O’ Level passes and 3 years of relevant working experience
- Higher Nitec and 1 year of relevant work experience
- Nitec GPA ≥3.5 and 2 years of relevant working experience
- Higher Nitec in Technology/Services and 1 year of relevant working experience
- Nitec in Technology/Services of GPA ≥3.5 with 2 years of relevant working experience
- Relevant WSQ Qualification with 3 years of relevant working experience and WSQ Workplace Literacy Statement of Attainment (SOA)(Level 6) and Workplace Numeracy Statement of Attainment (SOA)(Level 6) WSQ Qualification
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
- Singapore Citizens / PRs aged 21 and above
- Individuals who are able to commit to the training programme on a full-time basis
In addition, the target trainees for SGUS programmes will exclude the following:
a) Graduated or graduating in Calendar Year (CY) 2019 / 2020 / 2021 from ITE, Polytechnics, Universities, and other educational institutions. This includes graduates from private universities as well as overseas institutions; and
b) Graduated from the educational institutions mentioned in (a) and completed or completing their National Service (NS) in CY 2019 / 2020 / 2021 and are entering the labour force.
