Course Overview

This three-day programme is designed to enable participants to translate control tasks into operational Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs. Using the FESTO modular production system (MPS), participants will learn the components of the decentralised control system and apply them to a simulated production line in advanced manufacturing. Training will be conducted on Siemens SIMATIC S7 controllers. The knowledge learnt is also applicable to other PLCs commonly used in equipment and facilities at advanced manufacturing plants.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Analyse automation requirements and to translate them into PLC programs

2. Structure programming tasks with modular programming techniques

3. Create enhanced applications with de-centralized control

4. Apply these skills to actual manufacturing equipment

Training will be conducted on Siemens SIMATIC S7 controllers and are applicable to other PLCs.

Application/Entry Requirement

Siemens TIA Portal knowledge will be an added advantage.
