Course Overview

This course provides an overview of production techniques and that technology appropriate to video production. Trainees will learn how to apply various production techniques to transform story ideas into effective videos. Trainees will also be introduced to necessary skills for effective presentation including voice control and articulation, paralanguage and non-verbal cues.

Entry Requirements

Basic proficiency in English.

Salespeople e.g. Property Agents; Car Salespeople, etc.

Handle and operate video and audio equipment
Produce effective videos
Script for presentation
Perform credibly as a presenter in an engaging manner

Certification

Participants will be issued with a Certificate of Accomplishment upon meeting 75% of the required course attendance.

Lecturer/Trainer Profile

Mr Sebastian Sim

Sebastian joined Temasek Polytechnic’s Diploma in Communications & Media Management as a lecturer in 2014, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in the media industry. Sebastian began his media journey as a producer-presenter on Power98FM and was credited for raking in the highest listener ratings on the station for his evening drive-time belt. In 2008, Sebastian became the youngest Programme Director of a radio station in Singapore. He strategized the growth of the station and generated effective solutions for the station’s clients, bringing the station to a top 10 ranking amongst all radio stations in Singapore, according to AC Nielsen. In 2010, Sebastian made his crossover to television presenting when he became the anchor presenter for the football news programme ‘FC Daily’ on the Starhub’s ‘Football Channel’ and a weekly sports magazine show ‘SuperSports Arena Special’ on Starhub’s ‘SuperSports Arena’ channel. Sebastian is also an accomplished event host, voiceover artiste and actor, having done both television as well as theatre in English, Chinese and Malay. Since joining Temasek Polytechnic, Sebastian has helped develop the curriculum and mentor students in the field of integrated media. Sebastian also helped establish TP’s campus radio station, RadioActive.
