Course Overview

The course Human-Centered Design introduces the concepts of human-centered design and how this approach can be used to create useful, and functional digital product and services that have great user experience (UX).

Entry Requirements

Participant must have a strong desire to improve people’s live through innovation, willingness to explore possibilities and open to group discussion. No prior technical skill is required but good to have basic sketching experience.

Visual Designers, Developers, Software Engineer, Project/Product Manager, Technopreneurs, and Creative Practitioners who seeking to transition into a UX career.

What You'll Learn

Session 1
User Data Analysis
Collecting data from the user experience is the foundation for UCD to discover user Pain Points. Learn how to collect unbias data and translate these data into Data-Driven Personas for ideation

Session 2
Ideation
Conventional group brainstorming is mostly led by the loudest or most vocal group members. Learn to ideate by tapping on every team member’s experience and insight. The team will learn to work with each other, refine ideas and create idea breakthroughs as a team.

Session 3
Scenarios and Storyboards Creation
A great idea can only be great if it can withstand various deployment scenarios. Learn to test concepts through user experience scenarios and storyboard creation based on user-centred Personas.

Session 4
Rapid Paper Prototyping
The cheapest and fastest way to test a concept is by creating a paper prototype. Learn how to bring a concept across a potential user through interacting with a paper prototype. User testing and evaluation of the concept will provide user ability reception.

 

 

Equipment Needed

 

(1) Bring your personal laptop or tablet, for bigger screen web surfing purposes and a portable charger.

Certification

 

Participants who meet at least 75% of the required course attendance and attempt the assessment will be awarded the Certificate of Performance.
