Biomedical Science student Ervin Chan Jun Wee, in a cross-institutional team, won the First Prize in the Voices of Tomorrow competition in the Singapore's Leaders of Tomorrow (SLoT) forum. This competition was held on 19 October 2016 at the INFUSE, Fusionopolis. The event was organised by Global Biotech Revolution.
In this competition, the participants worked in teams to develop impactful solutions to address the gaps in the biotech and healthcare industries. Each team was assigned a mentor with startup experience to guide them in the development of a business plan which was then presented at the SLoT Forum.
The team’s topic was ‘To Address Public and Education Gap’. Their idea was to set up a non-profit organisation that aims to prepare Singapore's life science workforce, by educating students about diverse biotechnology careers and aligning them with the industry needs.
Mr Goh Miah Kiat facilitated the students’ participation in this competition.
