Interior Architecture Design (IAD) Students Win Big at DEA 2015

TP’s School of Design once again cements its reputation as an award-winning school with a big win at the Design Excellence Awards (DEA) 2015. Students from the school’s three architecture-related courses swept the lion’s share of awards across all participating schools and universities.

Organised by the Interior Design Confederation Singapore (IDCS), the Design Excellence Awards celebrates the best and most innovative interior design projects, concepts and ideas. Under the category of educational institutions, the SPADE (Spatial Design) Awards, the most number of prizes were awarded to students from TP School of Design.

Out of 30 prizes given out under SPADE, TP students took home 12 awards with nine from Interior Architecture Design (IAD), two from Retail Hospitality Design (RHD), and one from Environment Design (EVD).

Of TP’s 12 prizes, four Gold medals were in Public Design, Residential Design, Retail Design and Workplace Design, while the two Silver medals were received in Retail Design and Public Design.

“We encourage our students to enter competitions because it is a platform to challenge their abilities. They also learn to organise their boards so that it is the design that does the talking,” said Aida Khalid, Course Manager, IAD and RHD.
