In this course, you will learn about aircraft flight, aircraft design, airframe structure (including the fuselage), engine systems (including hydraulic systems), and the manufacturing of these aircraft systems.
You will also undergo six months of intensive practical training, tailored specially for the aerospace industry, at our TP-LTT Aerospace Training Centre. Selected students will also have the opportunity to undergo attachments in universities and aerospace companies in Singapore and abroad.
This diploma course will also prepare you for the Basic Knowledge Examination (Category B1) conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) under the Singapore Airworthiness Requirements Part 66 (SAR-66) Aircraft Maintenance Licensing requirements. If you pass these exams during your 3 years in TP, you will get direct credits and hence your subsequent Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML) apprenticeship duration after getting your diploma, will be significantly shortened, thereby allowing you to become a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE) up to 10 months sooner than those with an Aerospace diploma from other local polytechnics (which do not have this arrangement).
