Facility Management is a profession that encompasses multiple disciplines to ensure functionality of built environment by integrating people, place, process and technology. The eleven core competencies for effective facility management are communication, emergency preparedness & business continuity, environmental stewardship & sustainability, finance & business, human factors, leadership & strategy, operations & maintenance, project management, quality, real estate & property management, and technology.
This course will equip you with the knowledge and skill-sets to manage all kinds of facilities, ranging from integrated resorts and theme parks, to hotels, convention centres, shopping complexes, airports, schools, and even residences. It will cover the management aspects such as service quality, contract management, and business continuity management, as well as the designing and operational aspects such as building information modelling, security & surveillance, and total building performance.

This course, Diploma in Integrated Facility Management, is offered by TP as our response to Prime Minister Lee’s challenge to remake our city. The goal is to transform Singapore into a great city to live, work & play. This requires new mindsets and new skills to manage new facilities like Integrated Resorts (IRs) This explains why new courses are needed as it will raise up a new breed of graduates to service the Integrated Resorts (IRs), airports and other hospitality & tourism businesses.
Specifically, we have two exciting cluster of electives to choose from; Hospitality Facilities and Aviation Facilities;for those who are passionate in the aviation industry.
In addition, our course is the first diploma course in the world to be an International Facility Management (IFMA)- Accredited Degree Programme.
Developed by International Facility Management (IFMA) Foundation in 1996 and revised in 2008, the Accredited Degree Program provides the most comprehensive facility management degrees available through adherence to a broad range of industry educational standards. Accredited schools must provide instruction in the eleven core competency areas (communication, emergency preparedness and business continuity, environmental stewardship and sustainability, finance and business, human factors, leadership and strategy, operations and maintenance, project management, quality, real estate and property management, and technology) identified by the International Facility Management Association that define the professional practice of facility management.
Other similar courses in other polytechnics are more like our course since they are also in the Facility Management field, however only this diploma is focused on delivering Integrated FM for the complex used facilities like IRs and airports.
