Aerospace graduates closer to their dreams

AMLT2 trainees after receiving their certificates of completion in Jan 2018

The first batch of 10 trainees taking the part-time Aircraft Maintenance Licence Training (AMLT) Part 2 course have graduated – and are now a step closer to their dream of becoming a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE).

These 10 trainees are graduates from TP’s Diploma in Aerospace Engineering and Diploma in Aerospace Electronics (from the class of 2015 to 2017).  They had undergone their 8-month AMLT Part 2 training on a part-time “Earn & Learn” (ELP) basis under the SkillsFuture framework, while concurrently working in aircraft maintenance companies Hawker Pacific Asia Pte Ltd and Bombardier Aerospace Services S'pore Pte Ltd.

The AMLT Part 2 is a continuation of the Part 1 modules which the trainees had completed when they were full time students in TP.  This seamless continuation between Part 1 and Part 2 is possible because TP is certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) as a SAR-147 Approved Maintenance Training Organisation (AMTO) – the first local polytechnic to have received this prestigious certification.

The 10 trainees received their AMLT Part 2 certificates at a graduation ceremony held on 12 Jan 2018.
