Applying the skill-sets which they have acquired in their diploma course, three students from the Diploma in Integrated Facility Management (IFM) won the Silver award in the World Workplace Asia 2019 Student Awards competition held on 3 Apr 2019.

Presented with the challenge of designing a facility management system to raise operational efficiency in the management of a building, the students proposed a system called “Facility Ease”, incorporating the use of facial recognition technology to identify and track the whereabouts of service staff, a mobile app for tenants to submit feedback on issues requiring rectification, RFID tagging of equipment for faster auditing of assets, and a database to log all the information for easy retrieval.

The students then presented their idea to the judges on 3 Apr 2019, winning the Silver award, $1,500 and a plaque.  The top 2 teams were also given a slot to speak at the World Workplace Asia conference held at Marina Bay Sands on 4 Apr 2019.  The competition was organised by Surbana Jurong.
