Hello and welcome to the Design Show 2023!
At the core of design training lies empathy; the ability to take a few steps in the shoes of others. Empathy is a crucible for change. And in the three years of their time in TP School of Design, our students have been immersed in that very process of change. Through numerous design cycles, projects, sprints, they have been exposed to the issues that face the community, both locally and globally. Empathy has become both part of the process and part of who they are today.
Thus it is heartening to see our young designers, at the finale of three years of design training, to have that sense of empathy and understanding for the larger community and the causes of the world.
In the projects they undertake – be it in spatial design, or a fashion collection, an innovative unique product or even a communication campaign, they are ready to take on some of the challenging and pressing issues we face today. In the work of our students, I see the idealism of youth, married with the passion for iterative design with a heart for good.
I am proud, encouraged and in awe of our students and the work they have done. Three years of hard work and many iterations later, they have emerged as young design professionals eager to make a difference and skilled enough to do so in the many fields they are in.
Let Tomorrow’s Creatives lead the way to a more sustainable, socially inclusive world through good design.
