Will I be given a Student Matriculation Card and what are its uses?

All students* of the Polytechnic will be issued with a matriculation card. To facilitate identification, please carry the matriculation card when you are in campus. The matriculation card gives you access to library and sports facilities unless indicated otherwise.

* excludes participants of short courses.

For Full-Time Students

  • Please submit form via TP Oei > Resources > Student Support (Replacement of Matric Card)

For Part-Time Students

If you have lost your matriculation card, please inform Library as you will be responsible for any lost or damage to material check out against your lost card. You are to surrender the card should it be found after reporting the loss.

A non refundable replacement fee (S$10.70) is chargeable for lost card.

Which course and higher education institutions should I choose? I would like to pursue my Degree after TP but my results aren't good enough for local universities and I cannot afford an overseas education, what should I do?

Which course and higher education institutions should I choose? I would like to pursue my Degree after TP but my results aren't good enough for local universities and I cannot afford an overseas education, what should I do?

There are many options for graduates looking to further their education in Singapore or overseas.  There are altogether 6 Autonomous Universities in Singapore at present.  To get started, you can visit the universities’ websites to explore the different courses that you can pursue and the advanced standing granted by the various universities.

You may also consider deepening your knowledge by taking up Specialist Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes. Work and Study programmes  are also an option.

For students who wish to consider private education, do consider the 3Rs, and check that the institution and course is registered with the Council for Private Education (CPE) beforehand

Alternatively, you may want to consider is to work and defer your further education. Some students find work experience useful in their studies later. For one, you are likely to be more matured and disciplined. Also, with real work experience and insights, you may find it easier to grasp the related classroom teaching.

Most employers are interested to know that if you possess any other skills and experience outside of a formal education. These are helpful indicators to your future employer with regards to your leadership skills, ability to work in teams and time management strengths. Employers are often keen to know a potential employee’s areas of interests, sense of commitment and responsibility; qualities which most employers will appreciate.

Can I apply for admission while I am serving my NS in Singapore?

Can I apply for admission while I am serving my NS in Singapore?

Yes, you may. The Polytechnic will reserve a place for successful male applicants who are unable to obtain approval to defer or be disrupted from their Singapore full-time National Service (NS) to join the current intake. Reservation of a place is only applicable to male Singaporeans and Singapore PRs who are required to serve NS and are admitted to a polytechnic course for the first time.

For your top few choices for JAE, you may wish to select those TP courses that you are passionate about and for which your net ELR2B2 aggregate score is less than or equal to the previous year’s highest aggregate score of the course or not too far above the highest score.

To maximise the likelihood of being posted to a course of your JAE choices, you should ensure that, for some of your selected courses, your net ELR2B2 aggregate score falls below the previous year’s highest aggregate scores of those courses.

Students who have completed Year 4 of the Integrated Programme (IP) in Singapore may apply through the Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE-Local).

Please note that as per MOE’s guideline, for awardees with scholarships that specifically indicated tuition fees coverage, TTFS/SkillsFuture Credit/ PSEA/CPF/TFL utilisations are not allowed if the amount awarded are adequate to cover the students’ tuition fees.

Post Secondary Education Account (PSEA) can be used to settle both Tuition Fee and Other Fees but CPF Education Loan Scheme, Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy (TTFS) for Malays (Mendaki), Tuition Fee Loan Scheme and SkillsFuture Credit cover only Tuition Fee.

Other Fees are to be paid by using your own funds or PSEA.

Note:

(i) You are strongly advised to submit your application for Financial Schemes as early as possible so that your application can be approved in time for settlement of fees

(ii) If you have been an inactive student for more than 6 months, your approved Financial Schemes may be terminated by the Financial Schemes Organisations. You may want to check your Financial Scheme application status at TP Student Mobile App through a mobile device when you resume your study. If the scheme has been terminated and yet you still wish to use the scheme to pay for your fees, you would be required to re-submit a new Financial Scheme application to the Polytechnic during the Financial Schemes application period.

Subsidised students, who are Eligible and Apply for TG, are eligible to apply for Financial Schemes.

Important Note:

Full fee paying SC/SPR, (i.e. who are not eligible for TG, choose not to apply for TG or taking a full time diploma course that TG is not applicable), are allowed to apply for TFL up to 75% of subsidised rate and utilise PSEA to pay for full outstanding fees subject to availability of funds in PSEA.

What should I check before submitting Financial Scheme forms to the Polytechnic?

Please note the following :

  1. All sections of the application form must be completed correctly in ink.
  2. No correction fluid is used for amendments made on the application form.
    (a) Error should be crossed out neatly. Amendment should be written next to it and signed by the respective applicant. The Financial Scheme Organisation will reject your application form if any amendment is not properly endorsed.
  3. Completed application form must be attached with copies of relevant supporting documents required by the respective Financial Scheme Organisations and submitted together with the enrolment forms to the Polytechnic except supporting documents for online applications which are to be submitted directly to the Financial Scheme Organisation.
  4. For application form properly completed, the Polytechnic will submit them to the Financial Scheme Organisations for processing.
  5. If you are requested by the Polytechnic to re-submit the form due to any reason, you must re-submit the application form to the Polytechnic by the deadline stated in the Student Financial Application Form Follow Up Letter. Else, it will be deemed that you are no longer interested in applying for that Financial Scheme. To ensure you receive the follow up letter, please update your latest local address when doing online enrolment.
  6. Incomplete submission of required documents will result in your application being rejected by the Financial Scheme Organisation administering the Financial Scheme.
  7. Late re-submission of application form to the Polytechnic will delay the processing of your application by the Financial Scheme Organisations.
  8. You have to give prompt response to queries on your application by the Polytechnic or Financial Scheme Organisation. If you do not do so, your application may not be processed and approved by FS organisation timely for fee payment before fee due date.

You would be informed of the outcome of your financial scheme application(s) directly by the respective FS Organisations.

  1. For application form properly completed, the Polytechnic will submit them to the Financial Scheme Organisations for processing.
  2. If you are requested by the Polytechnic to re-submit the form due to any reason, you must re-submit the application form to the Polytechnic by the deadline stated in the Student Financial Application Form Follow Up Letter. Else, it will be deemed that you are no longer interested in applying for that Financial Scheme. You can view your financial application details via TP Student Mobile App through a mobile device.

What should I do if my Financial Scheme application result is not confirmed when my fees are due for payment?

You are required to settle your fees by using your own funds first. The Polytechnic will refund you after receipt of the fund from the Financial Scheme Organisation if your application is approved subsequently.

What should I do if my application for a Financial Scheme is unsuccessful?

What should I do if my application for a Financial Scheme is unsuccessful?

You may want to explore the possibility of using another available Financial Scheme that you are eligible to apply and the application period is still open. Otherwise, you will have to use your own funds to pay the fees.

Is it compulsory for me to submit the Tuition Grant (TG) form in the enrolment package?

Is it compulsory for me to submit the Tuition Grant (TG) form in the enrolment package?
  1. Yes, it is compulsory for all full time diploma Singapore Citizen (SC) students/ Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) or International Student (IS) who wish to apply for TG to complete the TG submission for Finance package.

    Please refer to question “How do I submit the TG form if I wish to apply for TG?” on online form submission.

  2. For International Student (IS), if you do not submit the TG forms by 5 May 2021, it is deemed that you decided not to apply for TG.

Please note:

If you decide to apply for TG:

> You must submit an on-line application for TG scheme at the MOE’s website;

You must complete the execution of TG Agreement with MOE by the stipulated deadline before you are granted TG; and
in the TG Agreement, you will be required to secure employment and serve in a Singapore entity for three years upon graduation.

How do I submit the TG form if I wish to apply for TG?

  1. Singapore Citizen (SC) student must submit the Tuition Grant Declaration/Option Form to be granted TG, subject to the criteria of TG eligibility.

  2. Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) student who wish to apply for TG must submit the Tuition Grant Declaration/Option Form, subject to the criteria of TG eligibility.

    For Singapore Citizen (SC) and Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) student, please login using your Singpass to submit your Tuition Grant Declaration/Option Form and follow the instructions on the form.

  3. International Student (IS) who wish to apply for TG must submit the Tuition Grant Option form, subject to the criteria of TG eligibility.

    For International Student (IS), please submit the scanned copy of a duly completed Tuition Grant Option form to us
    here.

Yes, an email will be sent to your TP student email account to inform you of the scheduled dates for online TG application and execution of TG Agreement.

It is important to check your TP student email account frequently so that you do not miss any important email from the Polytechnic.

What will happen if I do not apply online or complete the execution of TG Agreement by the given deadline?

What will happen if I do not apply online or complete the execution of TG Agreement by the given deadline?

If you do not apply online or complete the execution of TG Agreement by the stipulated deadline given by MOE, it shall be deemed that you have decided not to apply TG and you will be charged non-subsidised fees for your course of study at the Polytechnic.
