Application Process and Outcome

Selection Process & Criteria

The polytechnics will call up shortlisted applicants for further assessment, such as interviews and / or aptitude tests between  6 July 2020 to 1 September 2020.

Steps to ensure your health and safety

This year, due to the COVID-19 situation and its safe-distancing requirements, TP will use video meeting platforms to conduct the EAE interviews, portfolio reviews and/or aptitude tests with shortlisted applicants.

If you are shortlisted, the course teams will contact and provide you with the necessary information on the following:

  • Date and time of the online interview, along with the session’s weblink (e.g. Google Meet or MS Teams).
  • Preparation of specific portfolio items, as well as submission instructions using online modes and/or depositories (e.g. Google Drive).
  • Date and time of any aptitude test, along with its weblink. Some courses may incorporate the aptitude test into the interview sessions by asking applicants some related questions instead.

Selection Process

Working adults who would like to be considered for admission via the Polytechnic EAE will generally need to have at least two years of relevant work experience. They will need to submit employment records together with their application, as well as employer recommendations, where available.

The polytechnics will holistically assess applicants' work experience to determine the relevance of the competencies and skills gained over the course of their work to their course of interest.

Applicants who are found suitable, but whose past academic grades do not meet the MERs, will be given an opportunity to demonstrate that they have acquired the pre-requisite competencies for their chosen course through supplementary assessments.

Admissions Criteria

The course offer will be confirmed after you have accepted the course offer by the end of the acceptance period on 16 October 2020.

Application Results

Applicants may check their application outcome online from 7 September 2020, 2 pm to 16 October 2020, 11.59 pm through Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) portal.

Successful EAE applicants are to accept or reject their offers online by 16 October 2020, 11.59 pm. A non-response will be deemed as a rejection of the EAE offer.

Once an applicant has accepted his/her EAE offer, he/she will not be eligible to take part in the JAE, JPAE and other polytechnic admissions exercise. He/she will also not be able to switch courses within or across polytechnic.

What are my chances of getting into the course of my choice?

What are my chances of getting into the course of my choice?

For your top few choices for JAE, you may wish to select those TP courses that you are passionate about and for which your net ELR2B2 aggregate score is less than or equal to the previous year’s highest aggregate score of the course or not too far above the highest score.

To maximise the likelihood of being posted to a course of your JAE choices, you should ensure that, for some of your selected courses, your net ELR2B2 aggregate score falls below the previous year’s highest aggregate scores of those courses.
