After more than a decade in the F&B and retail sectors, Lim Si Yi pursued her passion for Human Resources by enrolling in Temasek Polytechnic’s Diploma in Business Practice (Human Resource Management & Psychology). Equipped with practical HR knowledge and a deeper understanding of workplace dynamics, she applied her learning to strengthen her capabilities at work. Her efforts led to a promotion to HR Executive while still pursuing her diploma, marking a significant step forward in her HR career.

More seniors in Singapore are choosing to return to the classroom, proving that learning has no age limit. Beyond staying mentally active, many are upgrading their skills to remain employable and continue making meaningful contributions at work and in their communities.

One of them is Mdm Mohaini Ibrahim, 70, who is pursuing a Specialist Diploma in Applied Psychology (Behavioural Insights) at Temasek Polytechnic. She has applied her new knowledge to enhance her work as a school librarian while also strengthening her relationships with her family.

At 80 years old, Anthony continues to embrace new opportunities through lifelong learning. While working full-time as a senior security supervisor, he is currently pursuing his second diploma at Temasek Polytechnic. He has also completed more than 20 short courses, ranging from fire safety and cybersecurity to generative AI, driven by his belief that learning keeps the mind active and opens doors to new possibilities.
