Overview

Foreign or International Qualification holders (including Returning Singapore Citizens) may apply for admission through the following pathways:

 

Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE-Foreign):
 

  • The DAE-Foreign allows applicants with foreign or international qualifications (including Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents) who are not eligible to participate in the JAE, EAE and JPAE to apply for the TP course of their interest. 

Who May Apply?

To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements of the respective qualifications as listed under the Country Requirements.

 

Applicants are required to fulfil the medical requirements (PDF: 92KB) for respective courses.

Prospective applicants whose national exams have been cancelled or deferred due to COVID-19 may still submit an application, which may be considered on a case-by-case basis. They should submit proof that they had registered for the national exams along with their application. Applicants may be required to sit for additional tests or assessments as required by the polytechnic.

Note: Results should be submitted with information of the subject maximum score and grading scheme/scale.  A notarized English translation is required if the qualification/ results is printed in a language other than English.

 

 

Entrance Examination

 

Applicants may be shortlisted to sit for the entrance examination cum interview conducted by Temasek Polytechnic if they meet the Minimum Entry Requirements of their respective qualification and the course entry requirements of the course applied for.

 

Shortlisted applicants will receive an email notification in late Dec 2020 for the online entrance examination cum interview to be held in mid Jan 2021.

 

Applicants with the following 5 qualifications are not required to sit for the entrance examination:

  • IGCSE
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Year 12
  • Malaysia SPM
  • Malaysia UEC
  • Brunei Cambridge GCE O-Level

 

Notification of Application Results

 

Please refer to the respective release of application outcome period listed in the table above. Applicants may check their application outcome (application status) through the Online Applicant Portal*.

 

* Applicants who have provided a valid email address in their application may expect to receive an auto-generated email when there is a change in their application status.

 

If the application status is “Under Consideration”, it means we are still processing the application. Please continue to check online until the final outcome is either “Successful” or “Unsuccessful”.

 

 

Successful Applicants

 

Successful applicants will receive an e-Enrolment Package to confirm their acceptance of the offer through Online Applicant Portal. Please refer to Course Acceptance and Enrolment for more information.

 

The period between receiving the e-Enrolment Package and the online course acceptance can be as short as 1 or 2 days.  It is important that successful applicants do not delay the acceptance of the offer through the Online Applicant Portal.

Can I apply for admission while I am serving my NS in Singapore?

Yes, you may. The Polytechnic will reserve a place for successful male applicants who are unable to obtain approval to defer or be disrupted from their Singapore full-time National Service (NS) to join the current intake. Reservation of a place is only applicable to male Singaporeans and Singapore PRs who are required to serve NS and are admitted to a polytechnic course for the first time.

For your top few choices for JAE, you may wish to select those TP courses that you are passionate about and for which your net ELR2B2 aggregate score is less than or equal to the previous year’s highest aggregate score of the course or not too far above the highest score.

To maximise the likelihood of being posted to a course of your JAE choices, you should ensure that, for some of your selected courses, your net ELR2B2 aggregate score falls below the previous year’s highest aggregate scores of those courses.

Students who have completed Year 6 of the Integrated Programme (IP) in Singapore and have obtained an IB Diploma may apply through the Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE-Local). Students with IB Diploma may also apply for selected diploma courses which allow them to complete the course in 2 or 2.5 years, provided they meet the entry requirements.
