Application Process and Outcome

Selection Process & Criteria

The polytechnics will call up shortlisted applicants for further assessment, such as interviews and / or aptitude tests from 3 Jul 2023 to 29 Aug 2023.

Selection Process

EAE(ITE) focuses on students who have strong aptitude and interest in a field related to the diploma course they are applying for.

Polytechnics will have the discretion to determine their modes of assessment, such as portfolios, interviews and aptitude tests, where relevant and appropriate. Polytechnics may also consider participation in activities such as work attachments and sustained involvement in projects that are related to the course students are applying for, as well as relevant co-curricular activities.

Admissions Criteria

  • While interest and aptitude in a field of study is important, having the requisite academic foundation helps to ensure you will be able to cope with the rigour of a polytechnic education and benefit from it. It is for this reason that ITE students seeking admission to the polytechnics are required to graduate from ITE and meet the minimum GPA requirement for their respective diploma courses. The minimum GPA requirements for each polytechnic course are:
    • Final net GPA 3.5 for Nitec holders (including CCA bonus points); and
    • Final net GPA 2.0 for Higher Nitec holders (including CCA bonus points).
  • If you do not meet the minimum GPA requirements, your conditional offer through the EAE(ITE) will be revoked.

Application Results

  • Applicants may check their application outcome online through Early Admissions Exercise (EAE-ITE) portal on 6 Sep 2023, 2pm.
  • Successful EAE ITE applicants are to accept or reject their offers online by 11 Sep 2023, 11.59pm. A non-response will be deemed as a rejection of the EAE ITE offer.
  • Student who accept their EAE ITE offer during offer and acceptance stage are guaranteed a place in the polytechnic course, as long as they are able to meet the admissions criteria.
  • Once an applicant has accepted his/her EAE ITE offer and meet the admission criteria, he/she will not be eligible to take part in the JPAE and other polytechnic admissions exercise. He/she will also not be able to switch courses within or across polytechnic.

Withdrawal of Acceptance

Withdrawal of acceptance must be submitted online through EAE ITE portal from 12 Sep 2023 to 13 Oct 2023, 11.59pm. Students who have accepted an EAE ITE offer but do not withdraw by the deadline will be deemed to have confirmed their acceptance and will not be eligible to participate in JPAE and other polytechnic admissions exercises.

Posting Procedure

  • Applicants are posted a course based on merit according to their net GPA. Applicants with better GPA will be considered for admission first, subject to the availability of vacancies in the selected course.

What are my chances of getting into the course of my choice?

What are my chances of getting into the course of my choice?

For your top few choices for JAE, you may wish to select those TP courses that you are passionate about and for which your net ELR2B2 aggregate score is less than or equal to the previous year’s highest aggregate score of the course or not too far above the highest score.

To maximise the likelihood of being posted to a course of your JAE choices, you should ensure that, for some of your selected courses, your net ELR2B2 aggregate score falls below the previous year’s highest aggregate scores of those courses.
