ASC Bags Third Prize & Good Presenter Award at Sembcorp Marine Green Wave Environmental Care Competition

ASC has bagged both the Third Prize Award and the Good Presenter Award at the 2017 Sembcorp Marine Green Wave Environmental Care Competition. The competition was held at the Sembcorp Marine Admiralty Yard on 8 Nov 2017. Over 1,000 local and regional students took part in the year-long competition in 2017, with 75 projects out of 307 entries receiving awards of up to $10,000.
Despite the stiff competition, our student Ong Lip Yuan together with his team mate (Lim Master Preecha, an ITE student who worked on the project during his internship in ASC) impressed the judges to clinch the Third Prize Award (S$4,000). Lip Yuan also bagged the Good Presenter Award (S$200) with his outstanding presentation.
Lecturer Mr Zack Siew facilitated the winning team who worked on the project Environmentally-Friendly Method To Recover Copper (Cu2+) Waste From The Electronic Industry.
First held 15 years ago in 2003, the projects this year covered a wide range of environmental conservation subjects, ranging from sustainable waste treatment to developing renewable energy sources and preserving natural resources.
