The five polytechnics have updated their offerings in recent years to provide more flexible and customised pathways to students. Temasek Polytechnic has an internship conversion programme, which recognises outstanding interns early by offering them provisional job offers before they even graduate, usually at the end of an internship. ST featured Rahul Raju, a third-year student from TP’s diploma in electronics course, who recently completed an internship with SMRT and was the first student to be offered a position in the public transport company six months before completing his internship, which he has accepted.
