Have you ever wondered how businesses grow their profits and investments? 

 

This module will start you off into the exciting world of accounting, giving you hands-on experience to understand and analyse meaningful reports to aid in business decision-making.

 

In addition, various financial concepts such as potential of company and financial measures will be taught to equip you with the know-how to make good investment decisions. Combining your understanding in financial concepts and the use of digital tools and resources, you will have the opportunity to select an investment and apply the concepts learnt to investment decisions in real world situations, and share your findings and recommendations through interesting role-play and presentation sessions.

 

Profit maximization tip: Basic understanding or interest in accounting or finance/investment will help you get the most out of this course.

 

This module will be conducted within a duration of 22.5 hours.

What You'll Learn

At the end of the module, students will be able to:

 

  1. Explain the basic accounting elements presented in financial statements
  2. Interpret financial statements to make sound business and investment decisions
  3. Use digital tools and resources to facilitate the investment analysis


Assessment Components

Students will be assessed based on the following:

 

  1. Class Participation
  2. Quiz(zes) or Test(s)
  3. Assignment(s)
  4. Project & Presentation or Reflections

 

Completion Criteria
Students are required to:

 

  • Fulfill at least 67% of the attendance and
  • Obtain a pass mark of at least 50% upon completion of the module.
