Course Overview

The SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) Security Systems Technician (part-time programme), in partnership with Apollo Global Academy (AGA) is a structured training programme that equips participants with technical knowledge and hands-on skills to work in the evolving field of security technology.

Covering key areas such as CCTV systems, access control, alarm operations, structured and fibre optic cabling, network systems, robotics, and industry exposure, the course builds a strong foundation in hardware and system integration.

Participants will gain practical skills aligned with industry standards, enabling them to support, maintain, and troubleshoot a range of security technologies in real-world settings.

The programme also includes career advisory, employment support, and industry visits to enhance job readiness. While job placement is not guaranteed, participants would need to be open to available opportunities with security agencies or systems integrators.

What You'll Learn

Lesson Objectives

Participants will acquire core technical skills in operating and maintaining integrated security systems, which includes:

  • CCTV Surveillance
  • Access Control
  • Alarm Systems
  • Structured and Fibre Optics Cabling
  • Basic Networking

They will also explore the application of robotics in security operations and understand how modern technologies support safety and monitoring functions.

Beyond technical proficiency, participants will build critical operational competencies in troubleshooting, system configuration, documentation, and adherence to regulatory standards. Exposure to industry settings and hands-on activities ensures practical understanding of security system deployment, testing, and integration.

Upon completion of the programme, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and experience to support the implementation and maintenance of security technologies across a range of environments including commercial facilities, critical infrastructure, and integrated security projects, positioning them for roles in security technology support and system operations.
