Course Overview

This subject will cover the law relating to marriage, divorce, legitimacy, adoption, guardianship, maintenance and custody. Particular attention will be paid to the Women’s Charter and the case law which interprets the law in these areas.

 

 

Objectives

 

This subject aims to equip students with knowledge and skills to:

  • Understand family law of Singapore
  • Effectively work in any family law practice

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Certification

 

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result, which can count towards the attainment of the Diploma in Legal Executive Studies.
