Course Overview

The Motor System & Renewable Energy module provides essential knowledge and skills to support Singapore’s growing sustainable economy. Designed for adult learners, this course focuses on energy management and sustainability, covering topics such as alternating and direct current motors, fan and pump systems, transmission drives, and energy efficiency improvements. Learners will gain practical insights into calculating system losses, optimising performance, and improving energy efficiency—key competencies for those working in energy-intensive industries like chemical and manufacturing.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Modes of Assessment

 

Written and practical tests, case studies, assignments and projects.

 

 

Certification

 

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be issued the Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Specialist Diploma in Environmental Technology & Energy Sustainability.
