Course Overview

Specialist Diploma in Sustainability Reporting (SDSR) is designed to meet the growing demand for sustainability professionals who are equipped with technical knowledge in sustainability reporting, as businesses increasingly recognise the importance of sustainability reporting for growth and the expected new legislation. The SDSR programme offers subjects that focus on transferable priority skills, such as in Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) reporting.

 

 


All students are required to bring their own notebooks for lessons. You may refer to the required technical specifications for notebooks HERE.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements

 

A Polytechnic Diploma or ITE Technical Diploma / Technical Engineer Diploma / Work-Learn Technical Diploma or equivalent

 

OR A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

 

OR A Post-Secondary Certificate with at least 3 Years of relevant working experience

Who Should Attend

The programme is designed to meet the needs of individuals who develop and manage the organisation’s sustainability reporting and ensure that accounting policies and processes are in line with regulatory requirements.

What You'll Learn

Upon graduating from the course, graduates should be able to:

a) understand sustainability reporting frameworks;
b) apply practical ways of identifying and engaging stakeholders in sustainability communication;
c) prepare sustainability report in accordance with the sustainability reporting requirements in Singapore.

 

To be awarded the Specialist Diploma in Sustainability Reporting, participants are required to complete a total of 2 post-diploma certificates (PDCs). A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of each PDC.

BCAF017 Sustainability Frameworks

This subject outlines the essential aspects of sustainability, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, carbon footprint and major global initiatives such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement. The subject will also provide insights into the current trends and developments in sustainability reporting and an understanding of key frameworks.

BCCM006 Sustainability Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

This subject aims to empower students to build purposeful and authentic corporate sustainability narratives. It equips students with principles of ESG communications plan, the application of behaviour insights and practical ways of identifying and engaging stakeholders in sustainability communication.

BCAF019 Sustainability Reporting Implementation

This subject provides an in-depth understanding of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. It covers climate-related risks and opportunities, including physical and transitional aspects, and the relevance of climate scenarios in business planning. With this understanding, students will apply the acquired knowledge to the preparation and interpretation of sustainability reports.

BCAF018 Sustainability Reporting Standards

This subject introduces the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards for sustainability reporting. These standards provide the framework for organisations to report on their sustainability practices and performance that are relevant to their stakeholders.

Modes of Assessment

 

  • The assessment will be based on a combination of coursework components such as case studies, assignments, projects, and presentations.
