The refresher course will cover any changes in regulatory requirements of refrigerant handling during installation, maintenance, and decommissioning chiller works and reinforce the good refrigerant handling techniques practiced by the industry through interactive training sessions, hands-on practice, and case studies.
The National Environment Agency requires all certified chiller technicians to attend the refresher course every 3 years. Course participants will be required to complete and pass a theory and practical assessment at the end of the refresher course to be recertified. A certificate will be issued to course participants who have completed the course and passed the assessment.

Participants who meet at least 75% of the required course attendance and attempt the assessment will be awarded the Certificate of Completion.
Mr Low Soon Keat
Soon Keat holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and a Master in Engineering Management from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He began his career in wafer fab equipment engineering, specializing in diffusion equipment and the preparation and handling of special gases. Later, Soon Keat transitioned into the education sector, focusing on ACMV (Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation), indoor air quality (IAQ), and sensors / data acquisition for IAQ. He has over a decade of experience teaching at Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and Republic Polytechnic before moving to Temasek Polytechnic.
Mr Cheng Ming Chin
Ming Chin holds both a Bachelor and Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He began his career as a research assistant at NUS, where he focused on ventilation studies for buildings. Transitioning into the building industry, he worked as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in building product and environmental testing. Ming Chin later moved into the education sector, serving as a full-time lecturer at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and subsequently at Temasek Polytechnic (TP). With over a decade of experience in education, he has delivered training primarily in Mechanical Engineering subjects, including Air-Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation, Hydraulics & Drives, Energy Audit & Management, and Building Management Systems.

Friday: 8:30am - 5:30pm
Closed during lunchtime, 12:00pm - 1:00pm
and on weekends and public holidays.
