Overseas Study Trip to Kitakyushu, Japan 

            

 

Between 9 to 14 September 2023, a group of 30 students from the Diploma in Big Data & Analytics went on a study trip to Kitakyushu, Japan. They immersed themselves in the local culture, learning about traditions and daily life. Visits to Nissan Kyushu Plant and Mishima Kosan Factory provided first-hand insights into machinery and the automotive industry. Collaborative projects with students from the National Institute of Technology Kitakyushu fostered teamwork and innovation. They explored the school's facilities and collaboratively worked on projects, broadening their global perspective. This trip equipped the students with valuable knowledge and a broader outlook on industry and culture.

 

 

Exchange Programme with National Institute of Technology, Kumamoto College (KNIT) 
 

From 9 to 14 September 2023, a group of 30 students from the Diploma in Information Technology embarked on an overseas study trip to Kumamoto, Japan. The students gained a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and language, made like-minded new friends and were involved in cultural exchanges and technical workshops hosted by KNIT.

An Awesome Overseas Study Trip to South Korea

To reciprocate, students and staff from the Diploma in Information Technology hosted 30 students and 3 staff from KNIT when they visited Singapore from 20 to 26 September. The KNIT students attended a Technical English Workshop, visited several places of interest, and were exposed to local food and culture during their visit.

 

From 4 to 10 November 2023, twenty-nine students from the Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence participated in an overseas study trip to Korea. They explored the Seoul Smart City Centre, Hyundai Motor Studio, Seoul Future Lab, Samsung Innovation Museum and Robot Museum. They also visited several places of cultural interest where they learnt more about Korean history, society and culture. The students were accompanied by two lecturers – Dr Gordon Hoi and Dr Liu Yan Yan. The students found the trip deeply enriching and inspiring.

 

Overseas Study Trip to San Jose, California, USA
 

From 24 to 30 March 2024, a group of 15 students from the Diploma in Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics went on a study trip to San Jose, California, USA. Their journey began at the Computer Museum, where they explored the history of computing and interacted with iconic inventions such as the punch card reader.


They also visited the Intel Museum to learn about the company's contribution to computing and artificial intelligence. The trip included tours of Stanford University and U.C Berkeley campuses, offering insights into the academic and entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley. At Fortinet, a leading cybersecurity company, they gained valuable knowledge about cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies and sustainability efforts.

Their trip concluded with visits to the Google and Apple campuses, where they experienced the culture of collaboration and innovation that defines these tech giants. The students were accompanied by two lecturers – Mr Shaun Tan and Mr John Leong. The students found the trip fulfilling and enriching.
