Over 300 delegates attended the annual security industry conference 2023 to learn about best practices to strengthen the security sector

Over 300 delegates from Singapore’s security industry convened at the annual Security Industry Conference 2023, jointly organised by Temasek Polytechnic and Conferences & Events Management Pte Ltd, to learn about new technologies and best practices for enhancing security services and elevating the skill sets of security staff. The conference was graced by Ms Sun Xueling, Minister of State (MOS), Ministry of Home Affairs & Ministry of Social and Family Development.

Themed "Unlocking the Power of Integration: Advancing Interoperability for the Security Sector," the conference underscored the importance of interoperability in enabling diverse systems to seamlessly collaborate within the security industry. Distinguished speakers shared their expertise on the latest industry developments, covering topics such as efficient security programmes, sustainability, and service-oriented outcomes.

 

 At the conference, Temasek Polytechnic solidified a strategic partnership with Certis by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The agreement, inked by Mr Aw Tuan Kee, Deputy Principal, Temasek Polytechnic, and Mr Ng Wai Kit, Chief Technology & Organisational Development Officer, Certis, signifies a commitment to advancing professional growth and bolstering industry readiness. Through this collaboration, both organisations aim to facilitate mutual learning, skill development, and the creation of new career opportunities within the dynamic landscape of the security industry.

Several new initiatives were also announced at the conference, including the launch of the Security Association Singapore Online Outcome-based Tender Generator and Repository (OBX) announced by MOS Sun. The OBX is a resource for security buyers to create and publish customised outcome-based tenders, and launch the refreshed Security Industry Digital Plan (IDP) 2.0. Jointly developed by Ministry of Home Affairs and IMDA, and in close consultation with over 140 industry stakeholders from the security industry, the IDP is designed for security agencies, security service buyers and building owners to enhance their digital capabilities and improve their overall efficiency.
