SAF launches The Sentinel Program to inculcate cybersecurity skills among youths

The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has launched The Sentinel Program to equip local youths with cybersecurity and digital skills to contribute to digital defence. The program was launched by Singapore's Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS). Participating students will acquire cybersecurity knowledge such as network programming, network forensics, penetration testing, etc. On 20 Jan, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Manpower and Defense Zaqy, who officiated at the launch of the program at Temasek Polytechnic, said that the program is aimed at encouraging students to consider the field of cybersecurity as a rewarding and career option, regardless of whether or not they join the armed forces in the future.
