Celebrating Hari Raya

Hari Raya refers to a day of celebration while Aidilfitri comes from the Arabic word, ‘Eid al-Fitr’, which means the festival of breaking fast. It marks the end of the month-long fast during Ramadan and the start of the new month, Syawal. In Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei, Aidilfitri is also known as Hari Raya Puasa while the festival is popularly referred to as Lebaran in Indonesia. This exhibition highlights the key features of Hari Raya Puasa in this region.
