Security Industry Associates Programme (SIAP)
This programme is a collaboration between the Security Association Singapore (SAS) and the Security industry Institute (SII). It aims to recognise young graduates who have joined the security industry by giving them the opportunity to be part of a prestigious professional programme. The programme seeks to deepen the participants’ understanding and increase their knowledge via exposure to key industry principles and engagement with stakeholders from the security industry. The security industry will benefit from expansion of its mindshare through articles culminating from research work assigned to the associates.
Eligibility Criteria
University graduates from any discipline, below the age of 35 and employed on a permanent basis in any of the following organisations: Security Agency, Security Systems Provider, Security Training Organisation or Security Consultancy. A maximum of 2 associates will be appointed under the SIAP annually.
Programme
The selected associates will have a tenure of one year.
The associate programme comprises the following:
- Courtesy calls on key stakeholders in the security industry, including the Security Industry Transformation Map Tripartite Committee (SITC).
- Meetings with relevant agencies and organisations.
- Associates will be required to write an article each during their tenure on a topic in the security industry. Associates will also present a viva on their suggested topics to SAS and SII for comments and guidance. The Secretariat will facilitate the publishing of the articles in appropriate publications.
- The President of SAS and the Head of SII will each mentor one associate.
